Compassion Ministries

ICP's links with various compassion ministries spring from a desire to provide opportunities and encouragement to the international community to become involved in sharing and serving Christ in practical ways in the Czech Republic.  More information on each of the ministries, and on how you can get involved, can be found in our leaflet, Compassion Ministries, which is available for download from our Downloads page.

Betel

Betel is an international organization dedicated to reaching out and restoring the lives of people with drug and alcohol addictions and introducing them to the power of Christ and His love.  The Center in Kralupy focuses on reaching out to men in the Czech Republic, primarily Prague, and ministering to the whole person through job skills training, devotions & worship and living in community with others.  They have a vision of building up a generation of Czech leaders and reaching the nation for Christ.

Klíček

The Klíček Foundation exists to improve support, help and care for seriously sick children and their families both in hospital and at home.  They aim to introduce playwork and voluntary work in pediatric hospital wards, encourage and empower the role of the parent in the hospital caring team and to help in bridging the gap between the worlds of ‘healthy’ and ‘sick’ people.

Naděje

Naděje means ‘hope’ in Czech and this organisation is dedicated to sharing Christ and putting their faith into action as stated in Matthew 25:35-36.  They seek to do this through a variety of programmess ministering to the homeless, mentally handicapped, elderly, and dysfunctional families.

Provázek

Provázek means ‘string’ in Czech and has the aim of reaching and meeting the needs of abandoned children. They seek to bring joy and happiness into their lives, teach them independence and to help them successfully integrate into society.

Teen Challenge

Teen Challenge is an international Christian organisation which primarily aids people with alcohol and drug addiction problems.  The goal of the Children’s Centre in Prague is to precede this with early prevention, to provide children who grow up in dysfunctional homes with comprehensive and long term care.  Their aim is to prevent truancy, bullying, drug and alcohol addiction and to help these children to successfully integrate into society.
